"Ode to Life"... by me.

Dial 1(800) 442-HOPE (4673) any time of the day or night, if you feel the need.

Ode to Life!

I absolve myself for hurting those who seek to harm me,
for offending those who give offense,
for pushing those who shove,
for moving away from those who are unable to get close.

  1. I find this saying a comfort in having had to deal with and estrange from a NM.

The line "pushing those who shove", I remember four terrible arguments with my NM in which she went on and on when I pleaded with her to stop because I was hysterical. One of the arguments, I had to leave the house. I just thought she was very persistent, but now I can see that as a trait of a NM. She always blamed our relationship ending from those arguments, but failed to have any accountability for her sarcastic remarks and judgements from a few years earlier than that. I was defending my in-laws from a family that she wished "I didn't marry into."

  2. I can totally relate to this. So many arguments where I was completely hysterical and asked her to stop! But she wouldn't. The more hysterical I would get, the more persistent she would be in the ATTACK and the more "kick" she would get out of the situation. Just the thought of her smiling through thw whole argument gives me chills down my spine. Nasty Bit#h
